If someone asks me what are my favorite makeup products I would say Lipstick and Mascara. I can go out without any other makeup but just wearing mascara and lipstick.
For this love with mascara I keep on trying different formulas including black and colored as well. Today in this post I am going to share some of my favorite black and colored mascaras with a quick review and swatches.
First comes few of my favorite black mascaras:
TOM FORD Waterproof Extreme Mascara ($45 for 8ml/ 0.27 Oz, Made in Canada) in 01-Noir.
It is a waterproof mascara, doesn’t smudge at all, gives volume and curl to my lashes and can be layered up without being clumpy. It stays on put until I take it off.
Diorshow Pump ‘N’ Volume Waterproof Mascara ($29.50 for 5.2g/ 0.18 Oz, Made in France) in 090-Black Pump.
I have reviewed and swatched this mascara in detail Here. Briefly I find this mascara best to add an instant and maximum volume and length to my eye lashes. Swatch below on eyes:
Estee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme Waterproof Lash Multiplying Volume Mascara ($27.50) in Extreme Black.
It is another classic mascara in my favorite’s list. It is waterproof formula which doesn’t smudge or smear, stays on put all day long. It gives me thick and long lashes.
Colored mascara or Lash tint is so in trend these days. Almost all big names has released a wide range of colored mascara. My favorites are from Chanel, Tom Ford and YSL.
Chanel mascara has always been my favorite for its formula and natural feel. Mascaras from Chanel give such a natural volume and length without being heavy or clumpy on my lashes even if they are waterproof formula. I would give them a little more time to dry before applying any other makeup on eyes.
Chanel Inimitable Mascara ($32 for 6gm/ 0.21 Oz, Made in France) in shade 30-Noir Brun is a very subtle brown shade. It is non waterproof classic formula, delicate, doesn’t smudge or flake. It definitely lengthens my lashes and add curl to them. I can go from natural to dramatic look with this mascara.
Le Volume De Chanel Mascara ($32 for 6g/ 0.21 Oz, Made in Italy) in shade 70-Blue Night is a classic lush navy blue shade. This mascara gives a precise application with no smearing at all. It is classic formula, doesn’t smudge and stays on put until I remove it. It doesn’t budge or flake, adds natural volume and length to my lashes. This mascara has a best snowflakes brush applicator with short and long bristles.
TOM FORD Lash and Brow Tint ($49 for 6ml/ 0.2 Oz, Made in Canada) in shades TFX22-Aubergine and TFX23-Turquoise.
Aubergine is a kind of purple with pink undertone whereas Turquoise is a perfect teal. Shades are very subtle, doesn’t pop up too much. Formula is pigmented and shimmery. I never experienced any smudging or smearing while wearing this mascara. I usually wear it in my low makeup days to give my look a hint of colour.
Yves Saint Laurent Mascara Vinyl Couture ($29 for 6.7 ml/ 0.21 Oz, Made in France) in shades 2 I’m The Unpredictable – Burgundy and 5 I’m The Trouble – Blue.
I find Burgundy shade more similar to black on my lashes, It doesn’t appear as colored as expected. Whereas Blue is vibrant with a high shine effect. Formula is pigmented and opaque. I wear them to add more shine and colour to my look.
